I HAVEN’T BEEN THE SAME
SINCE THAT DAY
Miguel Guerra grew up in the church, and although he knew
the teachings, he would never put them into practice and
even adopted undesirable habits. Read on to find out
how he broke free from undesirable habits and
became a new man.
“From the age of 13, I started smoking
cigarettes before using weed and indulging
in alcohol. When I was 16, I discovered
a new world: pornography and, with
that, an attraction to females. However,
after confessing my feelings for a girl that I
had gotten close to over time, I was left
emotionally hurt when she did not share the
same feelings as me.
Since I already knew about the UCKG, I
decided to do a Chain of Prayer to be
free from my addictions and the unhealthy
desire I had for women. But, two months
later, I stumbled into pornography again.
Several years later, I came to England
and started attending the services at the
UCKG in Finsbury Park. However, I stopped
attending the UCKG until I met an old friend
from Spain. She was now an assistant and
she shared her testimony with me.
From then on, I started meditating on the
Bible and putting what I read into practice.
I began to see results in myself just after
one week.
When the Campaign of the Temple of
Solomon was announced in June, I put my
trust in God and made a great sacrifice to
be free from everything that was supressing
my spiritual growth. As I put my trust in God,
my desire to watch pornography eventually
faded away. Now all I wanted
to do was seek the Holy Spirit
wherever I went.
When the Fast of Daniel
was announced, I was free
and willing to receive the
Holy Spirit. I did a personal
purpose to wake up at
3 a.m. every morning to
seek. It was difficult, but I
didn’t mind.
During the last day of the fast, I
sought and surrendered with all
my heart, and that’s when I had an
amazing encounter with God. Tears
poured down my face, and I had the
certainty that He was inside of me.
I was filled with peace, joy and a desire
to go out and tell everyone that God
is real! I haven’t been the same since
that day.”
