Is That You,
God?
Or The Pizza?
By Remaliah Evans
I
once heard someone say that
God speaks to us in dreams
because we don’t take the time
to listen to Him during the day.
There is some truth to this. I also
believe that God speaks to us in
dreams because dreams from
God are not filtered by our biases, doubt, and unbelief. Yet, how
do when God gives us a dream?
How many times have we woken up from dreams, wondering
if the dream was from God, or a
side effect from the pizza? How
can we know? Well, God knows
us and He knows how to relate
to us and communicate with us.
As an office manager I was the
liaison between the tenant and
the property management company. My most difficult client was
a type-A personality accountant
named Al. Al came to me because he felt that the lights in his
office were not bright enough.
The property management company would only supply brighter
light bulbs at his expense, and
of course he did not want to pay
for them. I didn’t blame him; the
light bulbs were not cheap. Unfortunately for me, Al then contended that my company should
pay for the lights, and of course
my company declined. I prayed
and because I had known Al for
several years, I let him know that
the best I could do was buy him
a very nice looking lamp. He appreciated the effort however he
was not impressed. I prayed
some more.
That night I went to bed and I
dreamed that Al and I were in the
office. Al gave me a polite kiss
on the cheek and then he said,
“it’s ok, Ralph took care of it.” I
woke up the next day and I knew
that God was telling me that He
would take of the situation. Ralph
was the CEO of my company, but
when I prayed about the dream
I knew God was telling me the
He Himself was personally taking care of my problem. That day
at work, Al comes to my office to
return the lamp that I had given
him and he says, “thank you for
