managing the day to day workings of
his music ministry. When life took an
unexpected left turn and I was faced
with divorce and two small children to
support I prayed and God told me He
was going to continue to use me in
Christian music. Since then He has
never stopped opening doors and
giving me interesting assignments to
serve His creative community.
In the information of Immerse it
is stated that you can sing, play
or write but know that there’s still
a whole lot more to learn about
making really great music. So
tell me, what role do you play in
the Dove Awards and GMA? How
does all these organizations come
together to make this happen?
I oversee a small but mighty team of
servant leaders and produce events
that represent the Christian and
gospel music industry. GMA Inc. is
a 501c3 non-profit foundation and
GMA is a trade association made up
of members and we are the collective voice of the our community from
political advocacy to industry statistics. The mission of the GMA is to
“expose, promote and celebrate the
gospel through music.” We do this
with a three-tiered Past, Present, Fu-
ture approach.
At GMA Honors we induct four people into the GMA Gospel
Music Hall of Fame and honor four people within our music
community for their philanthropic work. We are the keepers of
the Gospel Music archives and this event celebrates our history and applauds those who are using their platform to meet
the needs of less fortunate. This is a televised event with an in
house audience of 600 with
IMMERSE is our three day music training and allows us to speak
into the lives of our future artists, worship leaders and those
who aspire to be a part of the Christian/Gospel music business.
We gather current artists, songwriters and business leaders to
teach, mentor and critique the next generation; offering a bird’s
