Some might. If I was a parent I think I’d just say, “Just read the first 6 chapters, if you don’t love it and you’re not hooked, you can stop.” We haven’t heard of anyone wanting to stop yet! Your 1st book in the series is fun to read, with some clever red-herrings and twists in the plot, did you have an ending already mapped out or did the writing take you there intuitively? I’m a bit of a plotter, so I had the basic story outlined before I started writing. I did though become surprised myself at some of the twists I developed after I got into the heart of the writing. So I guess you could say some of them caught me by surprise as I was writing it! Having read reviews of your 15 movies and the ‘The League and the Lantern’, they all comment on the humour, a moral framework and family friendly entertainment. Is it harder to be creative when generating realism, excitement an d contrast between the goodies and baddies without the usual foul language, sexual content and gory violence? It’s a great question. I find that the best movies, TV and books I enjoy aren’t drawn to those darker elements. Whether it’s Steven Spielberg, Pixar or Star Wars, I think it’s clear that you can have flat-out engaging drama, action and humor without going there.
