s Christians, we live by a
certain standard; a code
of ethics. We don’t live
our lives by the world’s definition
of morality but we strive to live
by the example Christ showed
us in His Word. When we are
faced with difficult challenges,
we make every attempt to rise
above the adversity and represent a Christ-like life before others.
But…If we could take off our SUPER-CHRISTIAN cape for about
60 seconds or if we were given
a dose of truth serum during
one of those difficult moments,
we would probably confess that
sometimes we wish that those
who have hurt us or caused us
harm would get the punishment
we think they deserve, right?
Come on, you’ve heard people
say, “you deserve what’s coming
to you” or “that’s what you get”.
Well, these sentiments would
be okay if we were responsible
for the creative order of life, or
if we were self-sufficient; living
in a sort of Babel existence; a
place where we weren’t governed by any rules or a higher
power. If we weren’t God’s children, we would be able to do or
say anything we wanted without judgment or reprimand from
anyone. Can you imagine what
kind of life that would be? Can
you look around and see some
resemblance of that type of society being erected around us today? When we look around we
