encourage them to be
where they are. They will
more like Christ, in spite of
listen.
Offer Combined Solutions, not one size fits all
Today, we see many a politician come up with a new law,
rule or program that will assist a certain group of people, be it the
retired elderly, or, new business owners. We also see today’s
pastors come up with antidotes like new books, messages or
corporate prayer sessions where we tackle spiritual needs.
However the biggest most icky problems are never in just one
category. Rather, the biggest, messiest of messes tends to be an
overlap between many problems. The average person doesn’t
just have a financial problem, or, a spiritual problem. They tend
to have multiple problems that are interconnected. That is why
the church must begin to offer combined solutions that tackle
more than just one. Jesus said it this way, “That which is spirit is
spirit. That which is flesh is flesh” [John 3:6]. Our LORD and
savior noticed that there are different categories of issues that
must be addressed with different things.
