Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are great opportunities to honor parents and give back just a portion of the tireless love and devotion they offer their children. • If you live together, take over the cooking for a day or even just a meal. Try to include some of Mom or Dad’s favorite foods, whether it’s the main dish, a side or a special dessert. You can also take this opportunity to try your hand at a classic family recipe or learn the story behind their go-to dish. 28 Faith & Family | April 2020 Sometimes large gestures are preferred, while others feel it’s the little things that make them feel the most appreciated. Life and social distancing may get in the way of the usual celebration, but don’t give up. Here are some ideas to get you started. • Watch a movie. If you’re in separate places, let them pick a movie you can each stream or rent and play from your respective location. Set a time when you can each be free for a few hours, then call before starting the movie or set up a session on a service like Netflix Party so you can watch it together even if you’re apart.
