Fahrenheit 451 Jun. 2014 | Page 5

The biggest book burning has just taken place. All of the firemen were deployed including Captain Beatty, Stoneman, Black, Guy Montag, and many other firemen. To date, the biggest book burning and chaos has erupted today. Thousands of copies of books were burned on this grim day. All types of books were burned and many believe that “rare” books were burned as well – possibly the last remaining in print was burned. Other than the books burning, the fire spread to other buildings and streets around the initial building. Cars sped past the buildings and many officers witnessed innocent pedestrians being hit. Guy Montag reports today was the worst day of his job so far for two reasons. One for losing his dear friend, Clarisse McClellan and another reason, which he refused to disclose. Many civilians were curious about the entire event that had led up to the inferno. The firemen acted in a way that was unlike their natural selves. Captain Beatty, Stoneman, and Black all worked harder than usual to make sure all of the books had been completely disintegrated. Many civilians believe the government is trying to hide something. All of a sudden, the environment among the people has changed drastically. The people have become more aware of what is happening, but many civilians are still like their regular, lazy being. After the fire had finally dissipated, the surrounding area was a complete wreck. Buildings actually collapsed and the roads were filled with debris, along with many cars crashed along the side of the road. After today’s inferno, it seems many people and firemen have been traumatized. Captain Beatty said many of his men looked like completely different people and will be taking a short break. The government has never experienced such an interesting situation and is truly confused in our current state. Many people want the government to stop keeping secrets from the people and release the people of their censorship. The government officials have agreed to hold a press conference with the news group and answer many questions the people have, so stay tuned for more.
