This folder covers legal matters like FERPA and Title IX. It gives brief descriptions about the resources ODU has for students who may identify as LGBT, who are having emotional distress, an illness, or any other concern. These rights include: • The right to inspect and review the student’s education records within 45 days of the day the University receives a request for access. • The right to request the amendment of academic records that the student believes are inaccurate or misleading. Sexual Assault Free Environment, or S.A.F.E., provides crisis intervention, advocacy, education, outreach, and ODU policy and procedure information related to issues of sexual harassment. Student Outreach & Support odu.edu/sos Student Outreach & Support (SOS) provides support to students who experience administrative, academic, or personal road blocks. SOS is here to help students achieve their personal and academic goals. It is a resource that acts as a buffer between students and the resources they need to succeed at ODU.
