And he was transfigured before them, and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes
became as white as light (Matthew 17:2). And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the
glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to
another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18). Then the
righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father (Matthew 13:43).
Come,
Behold
the One
We are all on the way – from dust, to dominion, to destruction, to redemption, to transformation
– to sit with our Father on His throne (Revelation 3:21). Even when we know it biblically and truly
– clear enough and precious enough to give our lives for – we still see through a mirror dimly.
But as we fix our gaze on His glory and hold Him in view, we become most like the One we adore the most.
And to see is not only to believe; to see is then to become.
Now we know in part, until we see Him face to face. Then, we shall know fully – just as He fully knows us
(1 Corinthians 13:12) – that an even greater treasure than a glorified self awaits us;
the sovereign Lion of Judah, the Lamb of God Himself.
