Dear Friends,
YWAM Singapore has always trusted in God’s provision from across
all platforms, including friends, churches and alumni. Your generous
contributions, specifically designated to our ministries have been crucial
assistance to their operations. And the homeless, streetwalkers, medical
ship and rescue missions have benefitted invaluably from your support.
We are committed to pursue God’s highest intentions for the lost,
but we cannot ignore funding for our backbone ministries, which
include rental, administrative and operational expenses*. On top of
our earnings from school fees, and one-off donations, 10% of our
S$60,000 to S$70,000 monthly expenditure is covered by monthly
pledges. But a running deficit of approximately S$80,000, amassed
over 4 months (since August 2016), has put a huge strain on our
finances and management.
Monetary constraints are not an excuse to ignore God’s call, and we
continue to look to Him and walk our talk. We caught His vision, to
celebrate Christmas with our neighbours in Geylang, and through
a divine invite from a brothel owner we are familiar with, YWAM
Singapore hosted a Christmas party on 18 December, 2016 with those
on the streets, just outside the brothels of Geylang.
If our ministries are likened to ships that reach out to the poor and
unreached, then the YWAM administrative base is like the port where
they dock; to refuel, recalibrate and be refreshed.
We cannot compromise on the management of our base and we invite
you to stand with us, through financial support that will bolster God’s
dreams; to reveal Himself to the last, the least and the lost.
*Excludes manpower costs, as YWAM Staff are self-funded.
