For over two decades, Kurt Harrington has been redefining what it means to design with life. As CEO of Something Fishy, Inc., he’ s led his team in transforming aquariums from hobbyist installations into purposeful, wellness-driven design features for homes, offices and health care environments across New England.
Kurt’ s passion is simple: to create spaces that move people in amazing ways. From luxury residences and boutique hotels to leading institutions like Mystic Aquarium and Yale New Haven Health, his team builds custom aquatic environments that calm, connect and inspire.
This year, Something Fishy introduced the Signature Series— a collection of fully designed and installed aquarium furniture built like fine art, engineered for everyday life. Each installation reflects Kurt’ s belief that biophilic design isn’ t just beautiful— it’ s restorative.
“ Whether it’ s a family gathering around the tank at home, a patient finding peace in a waiting room or a team connecting in the office, aquariums remind us to slow down and be present,” Harrington says.
