To date we have identified the following main pollutants :
• Atmospheric particles such as organic growths and bird fouling .
• Grease , oils , and carbon from localised environmental activities .
• Build-up of efflorescence salts around mortar joints as water tries to move out of the structure .
• Micro fracturing and cracking of stone , failure of small sections which are anticipated to be

• Calcium deposits have developed on the stone sills and horizontal surfaces around mortar joints .
• Build-up of calcium on glazing units as contaminated moisture tries to escape from the internal structure and drips onto the glazing panels below .
