REPORT DESCRIPTION Global Fabric Filters Market: Overview Fabric filters is one of the most common techniques used for particulate emission reduction in many industrial applications. They are designed to collect particles in the sub-micrometer range with 99.9% control efficiency. Fabric filters are typically used to remove particles from exhaust air streams that are generated by industrial processes, where the clean air is re-circulated back into the plant to help offset space heating needs. They are used in the chemical industries, power generation sector, steel, food, cement, incineration and pharmaceutical industries. Filters are called as bags and these cylindrical bags are vertically hanged in the fabric filter shell. Number of bags in each shell varies from hundreds to thousands. Dirty gas is either pushed away through the fabric filter by a fan. When the dust laden gas is pushed through the fabric filter, the collector is called as positive pressure baghouse. When the fan is placed after the baghouse, the dust laden gas is removed through the fabric filter and is called as negative pressure baghouse. As the dirty gas passes through the filter, the dust trapped from the gas stream collects in a dust cake on the surface of the bags. When the bags are cleaned, collected particles fall into a hopper and are removed. One of the major design parameters of the fabric filters is the air to cloth ratio. This ratio depends on the type of cloth used, humidity, particulate matter characteristics, particle size distribution of the material being collected and bag spacing. As the air to cloth ratio increases, seepage through the filter medium, gas velocities at the baghouse inlet and velocities around the bags also increase. Higher air to cloth ratios also tends to increase the potential for fabric holes. Global Fabric Filters Market: Segmentation Fabric filters are typically segmented based on the type of mechanism used to clean the filter medium. Most common type of fabric filters are pulse jet, reverse air and shaker. Pulse jet filter uses compressed air for routine fabric cleaning. The filter bags are supported on interior cages and are hung from a tube sheet near the top of the baghouse. Dust laden gas is passed from the outside to the inside of the bag, depositing dust on the outside surface of the bag. Bags from pulse jet fabric are made from felted materials, which are formed from randomly placed fibres compresses into a mat and attached to a loosely woven backing material. The gas to be filtered can enter the collector at any point beneath the tube sheet. Reverse air cleaning mechanism is the simplest cleaning mechanism in comparison to others.
