MERUS ADVENTURE PARK
While we had been down in the canyon , the Bird had landed and we were greeted at the top by Marc , Trish , and Caleb going vehicle to vehicle saying hi to everyone .
Merus Adventure Park had thought of everything for the group ! The winds had picked up so dinner was moved into the shop instead of outside at the Rec Center , where there were heaters , tables , chairs , and games for everyone ! The Texas BBQ was amazing !
After a good night ’ s sleep , being rocked by the wind , everyone met for coffee in the morning to discover what was on the day ’ s agenda . Back into the canyon , we went for a day of hiking to get out of the wind . We had several more vehicles joining us this trip , even a couple of duallys ! We parked at an open area and hiked up the dry
river bed . This involved mainly climbing up , down , and around very large boulders . We eventually found ourselves at the end of the river bed with walls all around us . A few climbed up the last section to the top of the canyon wall to see the view . After snacks and a group picture , we headed back to the cars to head back up top .
That night ’ s dinner was back in the shop . Everyone brought their own food and beverages and sat and talked for several hours while the dogs were running around and having the time of their lives !
We had hoped to spend a little more time on Sunday morning saying goodbye to all of our new friends , but Texas decided that it was time for us to head out and sent temperatures plummeting into the 20s complete with an ice storm !
Thank you MERUS ADVENTURE PARK , for showing us a beautiful part of Texas and for taking care of the group every step of the way . It was a wonderful weekend and we are eagerly looking forward to the next event at the Park !!
