next thing you know , I ’ m sharing a beer with a new friend . I still keep in touch with some of the people we ’ ve met camping . Planning for a camping trip now has evolved from what was years ago when I would just grab a few things and wing it for a long weekend . Although my wife has been organizing us for a long time now with her Excel spreadsheet — to ensure we have everything we need and that nothing is forgotten — it ’ s a lot easier now with the travel trailer . We keep most of our essentials inside the camper , and just pack anything else we need the day before we leave . Although we have a great system in place , I ’ ve found that what works for some may not work for others . So as much as it ’ s important to absorb advice and tips from others , it ’ s just as important to keep an open mind about the practices and routines that work best for you .
We have always loved camping on the Cape , and our times on the beach and at the campground have given us some of our best memories . Outside of camping at a few other spots on the Outer Cape , we have primarily camped at the same campground for the greater part of the last 20 years . Now that we have the travel trailer , and a slightly larger tow vehicle , we plan to venture out to see some new places . But primarily , for us , camping is all about returning each summer to the National Seashore and spending quality time with our friends .
Overall , what we have realized over the years is that people in the camping community are really wonderful and kind people . They are always happy to get to know you , share experiences , and help out when you need an extra hand . I look forward to sharing more experiences and stories with everyone as we continue with our camping journeys .
All the best and travel safe .
