W
elcome back to a new academic year. I hope you all had a
good holiday whether you stayed in the UAE or managed to
get away, although with the end of September in sight, the summer
seems like a long time ago for many of us! I am sure that this new
year has got off to a busy start for all of you.
Sarah Rogers
Chief Executive Officer
I would like to thank those of you who attended our courses over the
summer, extending your knowledge and skills in our short,
enjoyable Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses. We
were delighted to see so many of you on courses such as Circle Time,
Working with the Under 2’s, Messy Play, Managing Positive Behavior
and the always favourite Phonics. We appreciate your support and
would love to have your feedback as we plan the CPD for the next
three terms. Tell us what you like, what you want more of and what
timings are best for you. We can’t guarantee that we can always meet
your needs exactly, but we will try our hardest to make the training
right for you.
Thinking of September as the new year, for me it’s the time for new
beginnings, a time when it seems more appropriate to make new
resolutions than in January. One of my resolutions is to slow down a
little and appreciate the people and the environment around me
and be grateful for what I have. We all live in this wonderful country
and forget sometimes to make the most of it so, as the weather cools
down, I’m going to make sure I go for some nice beach walks!
If your resolution is to invest in yourself and continue your learning
with more short courses, to start a new qualification or to finish your
existing one, I wish you lots of luck and we look forward to seeing
you. Perhaps you will come to one of the monthly leadership
breakfasts like the one next month with our Wellbeing expert
Justine Bain, come and learn about Makaton with Karen Soehnle our
visiting expert from the UK or learn more about Primary maths with
Nicola; that is just a few of the courses on offer this term. You should
have received an email with the PDF of our CPD calendar for this
term to help you plan. If you haven’t please contact us and we will
send you one or you can pick one up from the office.
I hope you enjoy this month’s magazine. There are lots of good
articles to read and share and if you wish to be featured in our page
on Nursery leaders after reading the interesting article in this
month’s edition on Tamara Tucker at Little Wonders, please contact
Alison at [email protected]. We will try to feature as many of you
as we can over the next few months.
We wish you a happy start to the academic year from all here at EYES
and Quest.
Best wishes!
