Eyes on Early Years Volume 12 | Page 9

Look back on your year and treasure your memories By: Ailsa Gordon The month of January marks the beginning of a new calendar year, it is an opportunity to start afresh and embrace the year ahead. Many of us lead very busy lives and as the days, weeks and months pass we can sometimes forget many of the fun, interesting and memorable moments we have experienced and shared with others throughout the year. To capture these moments and make time to look back on them why not try this fun and interesting activity. This month start the year with an empty jar. Each week add a note with a good thing that has happened, something you have shared with friends and family, experienced or learned. It is an opportunity to stop, reflect and be thankful for all that we have to be grateful for in life. At the end of the year, on New Year’s Eve empty out the jar and read about the amazing year you have had.
