Eban Brown: Stardom Records developed in 2002. During 2006 it then became an
LLC. I had to create a brand, a label, in order to record my own music. It was a
business move. We’re still growing. The latest projects are for example, my new
album titled “MISTER BROWN” releases at the beginning of ‘2014. What you expect
from “MISTER BROWN” is that you may hear some traditional Jazz, smooth jazz, you
may hear a little gospel, some funk, you know? Perhaps, something up tempo and
groovy. Also, I have the lovely and sassy Emotions, from back in the day! I met the
Emotions when I was 19 years old. They came to me earlier this year with their single
“LIFE” featuring Snoop Dog. At first, I thought they were joking, “I was like, who?
Me? Little ole me?” Yes, it was true; they’d chosen me to release their record. This
was a life changing experience. I couldn’t believe, a name and class act like the
Emotions had thought that much of me to bring me their record. I jumped at it. Didn’t
hesitate! We released the Emotions single “LIFE” and they are doing very good with
it, touring and continuing their launch.
In speaking with the CEO of Stardom Records, what we’ve learned about Eban Brown
is that he will lend an ear to any style and level of music. He’s definitely a different
kind of record label executive. Unlike, some of the major labels…they often prefer a
specific type of music style to sell a certain type of brand. For my Stardom Records
artists, whomever artists are in their craft, he really prefers not to change them-instead
would perhaps help to enhance the artists.
