“Balance is an unrealistic expectation,” the entrepreneur concedes. “I believe in harmony and dancing through the chaos of life.” She doesn’t allow herself to fall prey to hectic days, “I schedule my workouts,” Brooke confesses. “I allow myself to be as equally important as everyone else in my family. My me-time is invaluable. My escape and personal commitment to teaching is taking a fitness class and staying committed to my personal fitness goals,” she says. Another one of her secrets for looking great well into her forties is focusing on her headspace. “I believe that beauty is a state of mind. It all comes from within,” she says. This is the reason she is constantly doing things that make her feel healthy from the inside out. Her three health must- haves are mindful eating, a consistent fitness routine and happiness. Her food ethos is just as simple. “I try to keep it fresh, colorful, and delicious,” she begins. “I never compromise flavor. I believe in intermittent fasting and I’ve been doing that for two years. I like to follow a Mediterranean inspired diet,” she says of her food routine that typically consists of organic lean meat, fish and veggies. Brooke is also a fan of homemade meals and keeping hydrated, “I drink a lot of water and green tea. I start every day with celery juice.” As far as supplements go, she enjoys taking vitamin D and probiotics. Women Brooke’s age are always chasing after balance, asked to keep balls in the air that will inevitably fall. “Balance is an unrealistic expectation,” the entrepreneur concedes. “I believe in harmony and dancing through the chaos of life,” she says. However, embracing chaos doesn’t mean losing the value of quiet and tranquility. She always carves out moments of downtime to check in with herself.
