Our Solvent Free Extraction
The most common and least expensive way to extract hemp is through the use of alcohol and solvents like methane,
ethanol and acids. While they are efficient chemical processes, they put a toxic toll on our environment.
Garden of Life utilizes Supercritical CO 2 Extraction because it is clean and the CO 2 can be recycled. The CO 2 gas is
converted into a liquid under high pressure. The resulting CO 2 liquid acts as a natural (green) solvent, and then it is
ultimately recycled back to its original gas form. There is no toxic waste going back into the environment—it is a clean
and efficient method.
