What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, abbreviated to “CBD”, is one of approximately 115
“phytocannabinoids” naturally occurring in hemp plants. CBD is a
beneficial medicinal compound that is naturally present in all strains
of hemp. CBD is not a psychoactive compound—it will not get you high.

Breaking Down CBD
The most important compounds available in CBD are:
• CANNABINOIDS: This diverse group of chemical
compounds is naturally found in the human body
(endo-cannabinoids) and in cannabis plants (phyto-
cannabinoids). These chemicals interact with the
human Endocannabinoid System triggering a variety
of physiological effects and balance the body.
• FLAVONOIDS: Important antioxidants that give plants
their color.
• FATTY ACIDS: Lipid chemicals promoting healthy cell
operations.
• TERPENES: Naturally found in essential oils of all plants,
including cannabis. Terpenes are natural protectors for
the plant, repelling insects and animals through the
production of fragrance.
THESE BENEFICIAL COMPOUNDS WORKING TOGETHER
CREATE WHAT IS KNOWN AS THE “ENTOURAGE EFFECT”.
