Her beauty is palpable, she possesses the type of look that turns
heads and silences a room upon her entry. Knowing the powers
of her attractiveness, one might think her prescription for beauty
would be comically long. Instead, it’s just as practical as her
recipe for keeping her head screwed on straight. “I think beauty
is all about body, mind, and spirit,” MacDowell muses. “I think it's
really important to have a beautiful personality, by that I mean
being kind and generous to others,” her beauty secret concludes.
On the topic of beauty, she is also a firm believer that what you
put into your body as food and nourishment has the power to
enhance skin, hair, eyes and mind. Don’t let that belief fool you,
Andie MacDowell isn’t one to subscribe to nutrition gimmicks.
When probed about her favorite superfood, her response is a

refreshing non-answer, “Real food,” she asserts, is her favorite
superfood. “Fruits, vegetables, healthy grains, beans, seaweed,
nuts and seeds,” she quickly continues to rattle off. If you aren’t
vegan or vegetarian, her recommendation is also to include a
bit of responsibly sourced meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and cheese
in your arsenal. “Stay away from packaged food and anything
processed. Personally, I'm big on freshly made vegetable juices.
My favorite is cucumber, celery, and lemon. I can feel a jolt of
positive energy after I drink it and it is extremely hydrating,” she
continues as she continues to contemplate her diet.
MacDowell is also a big fan of supplements, she studies foods and
natural ways to keep herself feeling happy and healthy. “Collagen
powder has changed the way my nails look. They were peeling
