Our sustainably grown coconuts come from small family farms where we pay farmers above FAIR Trade prices . Low carbon footprint means , planting and harvesting is done manually , with no fertilizers or pesticides . Palm trees sequester carbon dioxide which helps to counter the effects of climate change . There is zero waste , we use 100 % of the coconut . About 25 % is coconut meat used to produce the coconut milk which is shipped as dry powder to reduce ocean freight fuel by 95 %. The shell , around 15 %, is used as a biofuel to run the factories with zero energy from the grid used . The remaining 20 % is water , used for coconut water .
