4 Fall Essential Oil Recipes NON GMO to Clear the Mind, Breathe Easier & Feel Prepared for Seasonal Changes Project VERIFIED nongmoproject.org Fall brings change. The weather shifts, school starts and we turn the clocks back an hour. And with this transition, we can sometimes feel out of sync. A great way to get back into balance is to incorporate essential oils into your daily regimen and practice. And if you’ve never thought about using and experiencing them, fall is the perfect time to start. We thought we’d share a few recipes that can help you feel healthier, happier, calmer and clearer. We have an easy hand cleaner gel to prepare for back-to-school and cold and flu season, keeping us protected and fortified; a fun chest salve to help ease congestion from fall allergies; a soothing bedtime massage oil to help ease out the kinks from time adjustment changes; and lastly, a beautifully aromatic roll-on to help keep our mind clear when the shorter fall days become too demanding. Essential oils have this remarkable ability to affect the body and the mind simultaneously. Their therapeutic constituents make contact with our bloodstream via topical application or by using a nebulizing diffuser. To affect physiological change, their aromatic molecules (how they smell) connect with our olfactory nerves cells hidden in the back of our sinuses. This triggers a neurological signal that affects hormone production, which in turn manifests in our behavior, habits and emotions. It’s this uniquely holistic double and simultaneous delivery that can make the experience of using essential oils so powerful. Garden of Life’s 100% Pure & Organic Essential Oils 100% Pure and Organic Essential Oils are highly potent and concentrated aromatic substances that are extracted through two organic processes: steam distillation and cold expression. Steam distillation uses steam to release the aromatic molecules from plant parts that include wood, leaves, flowers, seeds, and resins, while cold expression uses high-pressured squeezing to release the aromatic oils from citrus fruit peels. Both process require great quantities of plant material and yield highly aromatic extracts that reveal what we recognize as the “essence” of the plant. Amy Galper, B.A., M.A., Certified Aromatherapist, Co-Founder of the New York Institute of Aromatherapy These beautifully smelling oils have been incorporated into plant-based healing practices and methodologies for thousands of years, and the experience of using them has been shared, written about and codified in many early religious and medical texts.
