Soccer Star T oni Pressley Kicks Health into High Gear by Kelly Merritt Ask the world’s elite athletes when they began dreaming of playing a sport on the international stage and chances are, their answer will be—at a very young age. Toni Pressley’s lifelong passion for soccer began when she was just out of kindergarten. It grew from there into the career she enjoys today with the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League. Like so many champion aspirations, there were bumps in the road. Though Pressley was drafted into a professional league after college, it folded that year. She ended up going overseas to play but it became one of her most beloved life experiences. PRESSLEY’S PHILOSOPHY is that soccer is all about trusting one another on the field and knowing players have each other’s backs.
