Share Collective, Inc. & Roastery
With a Master’s degree
in English and Ph.D. work
in Literature, Garden of Life
copywriter Julie Helm, together
with her husband Steve are
pursuing their passion for
organic coffee.
e’ve spent our entire 35+ years of
marriage in the “people” business—
serving people and caring for people
because people matter. It’s an investment
of our lives and efforts we’ll never regret.
Over the decades, our passion for people
has taken us to incredibly beautiful as well
as obscure, extremely poor places, but, more
recently, we’ve embarked on a journey consistent with our love
for people and a lifelong passion for coffee. Share Collective
and Roastery is the outgrowth of my husband Steve’s vision
to bring both together.
While coffee is an international language, our culture is turning
more to high-end, specialty micro roasts, brimming with
unique origin notes and exotic flavor combinations. Go into any
small, stand-alone coffee shop and you’ll get a full-on barista
production while watching your brew. It’s beautiful!
Before there can be “art,” however, there’s “heart”—the
commitment and expertise of small lot coffee producers, who
historically haven’t gotten much in return for their tireless efforts.
Enter Share Collective. We have a huge desire to open the doors
of global markets and help small coffee producers build their
capacities for a respectable return on their coffees. We see coffee
as a bridge between the “third world” and “your world”—and want
to introduce coffee lovers everywhere to the amazing people
behind the Certified Organic and Fair Trade beans.
As our motto “Changing the world one cup at a time” suggests,
Share’s more than just a good story and a few compelling
photographs. Steve, “the Javapastor,” is founder and master
roaster and has spent years cultivating relationships,
developing farm schools, creating local enterprise and
shuttling medical and educational professionals to these
small, poor communities. National leaders and heads of state
have acknowledged his work.
