Jason enjoys cooking, playing
golf, and the free time he still
has but knows he will soon
lose now that he is a father.
Coming home to his four
dogs and spending time with
his wife and daughter are his
favorite things to do. Born and raised in Clark County,
Adam only left the utopia of
Southern Indiana to receive a
formal education in fine arts
at Ball State. He is the owner
of Hatch Design Co. and is
proudly raising his family in
the region he loves. When not
designing, Adam can usually
be found woodworking, cooking
or cheering on the Henryville
Hornets. A graduate of Indiana State
University with a bachelor’s
in marketing, Mary was in
the newspaper business for
more than 25 years before
joining the Extol team. She
is married and has three
children, one adorable 3-year-
old granddaughter, two dogs
and two cats. A lover of all things film and comic
book, Grant is no stranger to the
endless, weird bounds creative
story-telling can be taken. Grant
graduated from Xavier University
where he earned degrees in
English, digital innovation film
and television, and a minor in
writing. If not exploring Southern
Indiana and Louisville’s array of
coffee shops and bars, you can
find him escaping at your local
movie theater or concert venue.

Columnist Steve is a veteran journalist
whose work has appeared
locally, nationally and internationally.
He won awards for opinion
writing as the editor of a
leading worldwide retail trade
magazine. He has also written
for The New York Times,
Sports Illustrated and Travel &
Leisure magazine. Kevin is a college student with
a passion for sports, especially
soccer. If he’s not in the
classroom, you can find him
in the gym or on a soccer field
somewhere. In addition to exploring for
Extol, JD is an artist who co-
owns Regalo in Louisville and
Southern Indiana. He has
explored the country numerous
times by car and on foot, but
always loves coming home to
his husband and their family of
cats, dogs and chickens. Kristin is a mother of four and
resides in Clark County where
she works part-time at a
local school as well as for her
husband, writing and editing
copy. Kristin holds a bachelor
of arts in communication. MANDY

Angie is a writer, editor, TV
reporter, and, most importantly,
a wife and mom. A lover of
animals, words, people, pickles,
Kenny Rogers and the nearest
dance floor, Angie has a heart
for helping those in need. She

Mandy Kentuckiana born and
raised. She serves as managing
editor and food stylist for a
national food trade publication.
Her house is home to a
vegetarian teenager, three cranky
cats and a co-dependent rescue
dachshund.
