HEART- Community Walk

July 10th- 3:30pm. The HEART Club,( Healthy Eating and Activity in Rural Towns). Begin at the trailhead behind Watkins Glen High School to NYS Route 14- 1.7 miles (3.4 miles roundtrip) All are welcome to participate. Bring a friend or meet a new walking partner. It’s a free activity close to home. Each journey begins with the first step. Improve your personal wellness. Come and take your first step with us! Join the fun! July 12, 2016, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Learn how solar energy can work for you! "What are photovoltaics?" "What is solar thermal?" "How do they work and what incentives and rebate programs are available so I can put them on my house?" "What if my house is too shaded for solar?" If you've been asking some of these questions, come find the answers and the options that could work for you at this introductory presentation. Free and open to the public. Pond Planning, Construction and Care.

July 25th- The Southern Finger Lakes Chapter of the NY Forest Owners Association invites you to

join them on Monday evening, July 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Neuhauser Tree Farm; 434 W. Groton Rd; Groton, NY to learn how hosts Ed and Peg Neuhauser designed and built a several acre pond last year. Discussions will include the planning, permitting and implementation of the project, as well as plans for on-going care and enhancement. Experts will be on hand to share advice with other pond owners and those interested in building ponds on their property. Adjacent wetland areas will also be toured. The evening pond walk will take place rain or shine, and require walking in field conditions up to a half mile. Beginning Archery

July 26th 6pm-7pm held at the Millport Rod and Gun Club (1750 Gano Road, Montour Falls, NY 14865) Fee is $25 for current 4-H members or $30 if not currently registered. Ages 9 and above. Limited class zize to 12. Deadline for registration is July 21st. Pre registration only, you must be paid to reserve your place in the class. There will be a parent meeting from 6:15pm-6:45 on July 26th at the club.
