What Makes a horse fly?

By Isabelle Whiteside

What makes a horse fly?

Is it the spirit coursing through their veins?

Is it the connection between the horse and rider?

Is it the power and strength gathered in their muscles?

Or is it the heart so big and strong?

Many things make a horse fly:

agility, strength, power, heart,

but one thing specifically.

Freedom makes a horse soar,

through clouds of ivory and silver,

over fields of olive and jade.

Freedom makes a horse feel,

rooting deep into their soul,

twisting vines of heart and discovery.

Freedom makes a horse sing,

its voice carrying across the air,

the deep sound of generations to come.

Freedom makes a horse dance,

with grace and beauty within,

across great land with agile and joy.

Freedom makes a horse love,

a love so tender and dear,

a love so strong it could move mountains.

Freedom is, and always will be,

the root and reason of this powerful creature of grace and beauty.
