The bell has already rung, but he’s still taking notes

As if studying for the first time can get him off of the ropes

I don’t know why, but he applies himself like he has enough time

Maybe this is what happens when you don’t even try, when you don’t even care so much as to bat an eye

What is the point, how far will he get, how do I know that he won’t stop half way and wallow in regret

Why did this happen, he hasn’t done any wrong, what kind of transgression did he commit to make his life feel so wrong

Should he keep going, does he have the will for it

Can he push on for something that he has never had the drive for

Give up and go to sleep, your dreams are as real as walking on the sea

You don’t know effort, you do know failure

You’ve never felt pride, everything bores you

You’ve watched people as they flew, while you remain walking with your feet black and blue

We have watched you for long enough, but we won’t walk away

Leaving you alone would mean that everything is okay

I can’t give you advice, that wouldn’t be fair

But try sleeping under a willow tree, it will get things out of your hair

Sleep tonight and ponder our words, giving up now will only be for the worst
