All That Remained

By: ANONYMOUS

But where to begin and where to end?

With who I was or who I am?

Because half of the people I know never met who I was

and the other half never bothered to learn who I am.

I suppose it’s not my fault,

Nor is it theirs.

Because time keeps ticking, the world keeps turning,

The sun only waits for the moon.

And the people you knew yesterday are strangers today.

And the strangers you met yesterday are friends today.

And the moon only waits for the sun.

And you can’t help but wonder,

Where did it begin and where did it end?

Because of who I was or who I am?

Somehow, through it all,

All that remained

Were pieces of moments

Frozen in photographs.
