Misted over with ashes

Swept by a broom from his past.

When his halo turned black.

She’s got scars from the days

When the air was too thin

She bled from the pain

Of missing what she never met.

His hair covers his eyes

And a smile creeps up slow

I wait for the chance

I know he can be made whole.

Somewhere to go and hide.

But she can’t find any place.

So she hides inside.

And his heart’s much bigger

Than the fists he takes

And his dreams are taking off

Leaving this place.
