Drawing: Thoughtful Woman by Jingyi Liu
I Feel
Jillian Jacinto
I feel the chill coursing through my veins.
I see nothing, but the feeling rains
From the sky. Oh how high! Oh how high
The droplets whizz down like bullets fly.
How the tingles never truly leave.
What umbrella or roof makes me truly believe
That I will someday be dry,
Safe from the gray sky?
I feel those words branded on my soul.
I block them out, but my mind can’t take control
Of my thoughts. Oh please! Oh just please
Hear me out when I call your name on my knees.
How I wish someone was there, if you were there.
The one who was is gone, out there somewhere.
One day they will return, for me.
I have hope they will see.
I feel those hands searching for my heart.
I see a possibility, I feel more a part
Of a bigger picture. How I wish! How I wish
I belonged with others like a school of fish.
How the yearning is always a part of you.
No pain will enforce a mental coup.
I will wait for it as I wait to be free,
Free from my faults and of me.
