South Park and Judaism

Kyle Broflovksi is the one who gets ridiculed because of his Jewish background and beliefs. He often expresses his Jewish pride and stands up for it when Cartman teases him. In Leslie Stratyner’s and James R. Keller’s The Deep End of South Park, Kyle’s judaistic personality is described as follows:

Because Kyle’s identity is authentic, it gives him an individuality that is unmatched by other characters in the program who reflexively adopt the most conventional traits and positions associated with their respective ethnic or religious groups. Kyle’s Judaism is cool because it is unbashed; he does not attempt to hide it or ‘pass,’ even when invited to do so by Eric.
