The apartments benefit from two bedrooms, a central living space, kitchenette and balcony/terrace with table and chairs. The spa offers a wide choice of treatments and notably has a marine hydro pool, which when the coast is in, looks like an infinity pool (pictured). There are three restaurants, and dining at The Cliff Restaurant you may find tail of monkfish on braised lentil and panchetta vinaigrette to start and fresh egg tagliatelle with mozzarella, pesto and vine ripe tomato sauce as a main course. As a couple booking an apartment (designed for four adults), it is worth noting that you will not have access to the second bedroom (it will be locked). VISIT THE WEBSITE Cann Office Hotel Llangadfan, Welshpool, Powys SY21 0PL The Cann Office dates back to 1310 and is a pub with rooms, eight in fact. It has undergone a number of improvements since our last visit a few years ago, notably the outdoor seating area. Situated between Welshpool and Machynlleth / Dolgellau, it is an excellent ‘stop over’. The bedrooms, whilst simple, provide exactly what you need and are truly excellent value for money. Make sure you are hungry, the portions are generous and expect firm pub favourites such as homemade Thai crab cakes with a sweet chilli dressing and salad garnish, followed by a homemade chicken curry, with naan, rice and chips. A friendly atmosphere will greet you at the Cann Office. If you haven’t visited for a while, go again. VISIT THE WEBSITE 50 EXPLORER WALES // GUIDE
