Races and regattas are a common occurrence in Saanich, B.C., and Cadboro Bay
is a haven for sailboats. Located on the southern end of Vancouver Island, Cadboro Bay is
also home to the legendary sea serpent Cadborosaurus (“Caddy” for short). And while the
actual creature remains elusive, a climbable concrete version in nearby Cadboro-Gyro Park
is on display. But it’s the sailing that draws a real crowd to Saanich. Learn more by visiting
the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, which hosts the annual T.H.R.A.S.H Regatta, the Swiftsure
International Yacht Race and the Vancouver Island Racing Series.
