The Awe-Inspiring Brown Bear
Living in the forests and mountains of northern North America, Europe, and Asia,
the brown bear is typically a solitary animal (with the exception of females and their
cubs). The world’s largest brown bears are found in costal British Columbia, Alaska,
and on islands such as Kodiak. While typically alone, at times these large predators
do gather in large groups at prime salmon fishing spots to feast on the fatty fish that
helps sustain them through the winter.
