Borst Lake While located just a ¼ mile from downtown Snoqualmie and 29 miles from downtown Seattle , Borst Lake ’ s not on the radar for most folks . Perhaps it ’ s because the shallow waterbed doesn ’ t have a parking lot . Or maybe it ’ s the lack of hiking trails . You simply need to pull off the side of Southeast Mill Pond Road to access its plentiful shores . But ‘ The Millpond ’ as its fondly known by locals offers exceptional year-round fishing — with trophy largemouth bass lurking beneath the surface . While you can fish from the shore , canoes and kayaks can also easily be launched to allow you to explore more of this stunning location . Photo by Dave Hoefler
