There ’ s Plenty to Be Thankful For
Todd Banks , President
AS EVERYONE IN THE GREATER Pacific Northwest continues adapting to the ‘ new normal ’ of Covid-19 , I am happy to report Kenmore Air will emerge stronger and better because of it . It has taught us to take the weeks , days , and even the hours , in stride . We have and we will continue to adjust as the conditions warrant . It has taught everyone at Kenmore Air to work smarter and to be more flexible . But most importantly , it reminded us to build on our strengths .
I say that knowing that our dedicated employees have continued to build on one of our company ’ s hallmarks : Kenmore Air ’ s culture . Since our company was founded in 1946 , we pride ourselves on creating the best customer experience possible . And as we look to the fall and winter , I feel good about where we ’ re headed , regardless of how long it takes our community to find a solution for the pandemic .
Certainly , Covid has altered the way we do things . This fall and winter we are focusing on our wheeled aircrafts , the wonderful Cessna Caravans . Roomy , comfortable and remarkably efficient , these nine-passenger airplanes will shoulder the load until we can reintroduce our regularly-scheduled seaplane service . Until then , I take pride knowing our wheeled planes and seaplane charters will deliver our passengers on time and in all kinds of jorge cavello photo weather .
Recently , we opened a maintenance shop at Paine Field in Everett , Wash . The 12,000-square-foot airplane hangar has given us space to work on both Kenmore ’ s fleet and customer airplanes . This has proven to be yet another facet where our diversity has paid off .
In spring we ’ re looking forward to also offering flights from Paine Field , which will open a new door for Kenmore Air and our passengers . This new terminal allows passengers to connect with Alaska Airlines flights from a firstclass facility that offers an exceptional flying experience .
I ’ m also encouraged by the responses we ’ ve received from those of you who have flown with us during the pandemic . Your safety is , and always will be , our top priority . Following the state-mandated Covid safety protocols , facemasks are required for all employees and passengers in our terminals and on our aircraft . All passengers are screened before each flight . Our terminals are cleaned and disinfected regularly . Before and after each flight , our planes are also cleaned and disinfected . And at the end of the day , each plane is again thoroughly cleaned .
Since March , the Covid-19 pandemic came at all of us like a runaway freight train . It ’ s a testament to our community that the train is still on the tracks and starting to feel more manageable day by day . When will be we ‘ back to normal ’? That ’ s anyone ’ s guess . But until then , we ’ ll continue to open new doors , explore new opportunities , and operate with your safety as the utmost priority .
Thank you for flying with us . We ’ re honored to have you aboard .
