Whidbey Island of the ebb over to Guemes Island , then use the flood to push you up to Cypress Head . Strong eddy lines can occur off Cypress Head so time for slack if you don ’ t have skills for currents . Cypress Head is a DNR and Cascadia Marine Trail site and is only open in the summer months .
Burrows Island also has a Cascadia Marine site on it ’ s eastern shore in Alice Bight , a forested cove surrounded by tide pools and reefs . Its vault bathroom is one of the best outhouses in the archipelago . Park at Skyline Marina on Cabana Lane where there ’ s overnight paid spots .
