Wall to Wall Books: Russell Books Looking for a place to spend a quiet hour or
two? Or four? Check out Russell Books in Victoria, one of the city’s best landmarks. The
best way to describe this bookstore is it is wall-to-wall books, from floor to ceiling. Carrying both new and used books, plus periodicals, Russell Books has the largest selection of
books in Canada. It is estimated that at any one time there are upwards of 2 million titles
on the shelves here. There are two floors to the building, taking up 10,000 square feet. The
store is located at 734 Fort Street in Victoria. Looking for something out of print? Chances
are good they have it. Looking for a bestseller? They definitely carry it. We can’t think of
better way to kill an hour or two than browsing through a storied bookstore with a rich
history. You won’t be disappointed with Russell Books.
WINE TASTING OPEN DAILY Located in Friday Harbor, San Juan Vineyards is home to awardwinning wines including its Siegerrebe, Merlot, Madeleine Angevine and Cabernet Franc.
YOU’RE CORDIALLY INVITED TO STOP by the San Juan Vineyards
tasting room for a glass of wine between 11 am and 5 pm each day.
And while you’re there you’ll enjoy award-winning wines in the tasting
room, which is housed in a remodeled 1895 schoolhouse that has
become a destination winery. You’ll be delighted to know the renovated
schoolhouse sits on a 6-acre property where Madeleine Angevine and
Siegerrebe grapes contribute to 20- to 30-percent of the vineyard’s
production. The remaining wine comes from grapes from the Yakima
Valley and Horse Heaven Hills Appellations in Eastern Washington.
