Local Corps of Engineers Visited to Discuss Erosion Issues .
There have been several tours and discussions about building a park that includes landfills and junkyards , and must deal with erosion .
Members of the RHC executive team met with local members of the Corps of Engineers to walk the property along the Ohio River and discuss various options to address the erosion that , on one part of the Ohio River Greenway , has taken an entire road .
The RHC team and Board want to ensure that progress is being made on the issue as we invest in building Origin Park .

USACE Great Lakes and Ohio River Division hosted the 2024 Ohio River Basin Inspection Tour , also known as ORBIT , in May , at the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville , Kentucky . The theme for this year ’ s event was “ Partnering for Results : Shaping the Future of the Ohio River Basin .”
With over 45 organizations represented and more than 90 attendees each day , ORBIT brought Ohio River Basin stakeholders together to identify challenges and opportunities within the Basin , raise awareness of organizational initiatives , and strengthen the stakeholder network . The two-day event also highlighted active USACE and community projects within the Louisville area .
Our CEO , Dennis Schnurbusch II , gave a presentation to attendees about the erosion issues River Heritage Conservancy faces in building Origin Park .
