Connections- Leadership SI Discovery Class takes a hike !
Leadership Southern Indiana visited Origin Park at the end of the Healthy Communities Day and finished it by taking a hike through Buttonbush Woods .
Dennis Schnurbusch II , the new CEO of River Heritage Conservancy made his very first presentation to this group before leading them on a hike to let them experience the woods and the wetlands that are a vital part of Origin Park . Mr . Schnurbusch had just been the CEO for seven weeks at this event , but has hit the ground running in putting his background in entertainment and park experience to work .
Boulders in Our Park –
Recently , a large group of boulders were donated to Origin Park by River Ridge Development Authority . You might ask , why are these boulders important and what is their purpose in the park ? Kevin Beck and Melissa Holst have the answers !
Kevin and Melissa are both a part of Origin Park ’ s Operations Staff , and were interviewed concerning what these boulders mean to the park . Melissa states that these wonderful boulders will be used as accent items throughout the park to tie in and bring some of the river front history to Origin Park .
“ What is really interesting about these is that they came from the same depositional layer as the exposed fossil beds at Falls of the Ohio State Park !” Melissa shares .
Kevin and Melissa are both excited to see park goers enjoy spotting the abundance of fossils found within these large rock formations . Search “ Origin Park ” on YouTube to learn more !
