How to Survive those Long Plane Rides – Lauren Jankowski

Take it from me, someone who's been on five fourteen hour flights in the past two
years; they get boring and you have got to stay entertained. Whether you're into
music, art, or technology, there are heaps of things you can do on the plane to stay
entertained.
The first fourteen hour flight I got on was from America to Australia, because I was
moving there. So, even with all the curiosity and questions I was thinking about, I was
still incredibly bored. So what did I do? I slept. For probably three-quaters of the plane
ride. I had never been on such a long plane ride in my entire life, and if you haven't
either but are going to be soon, you will definitely need to prepare for a lot of sleep.
However, if you've done that the past few long flights and want some new ideas, I may
have a few basic ideas that interest you: watch a movie or tv show on your laptop,
play game, on your phone, write a story, listen to music, do homework or just work in
general, draw a picture, read a book or a magazine, etc. You may also want some more
interesting ideas, and I have plenty of those as well: knit a scarf, make a collage of
magazine pictures, make oragmi, make a word search and get one of your friends or
family members to solve it, etc.
It's not just about ideas, though, it's about preparation. For example, if you're planning
on watching a movie or tv show, you either have to download it before the plane ride
or bring it along with you, or if you want to knit a scarf, you've got to bring the
material and knitting equipment.
If you come prepared and you take some of
hese ideas in to account, the plane rides actually
aren't that bad. Hopefully this has helped you, and
hopefully your plane rides in thefuture won't be as
dreadful! Just think of themas fourteen hours to
yourself to do what you want. :)
