King Library Addition Prompt: Design an interactive meeting and seating space outside of Miami University’s King Library driveway. Focus on party size, light, pathways, and shelter. The addition had to be designed in such a way that it could be built by only 3 people. Time Frame: 4 Weeks, Spring 2012 Synopsis: I explored using numerous 3D modeling programs to design a shelter that was light and open, offered interesting lighting opportunities, and could be pre-fabricated on a CNC router. The shelter organically rises to meet the building and incorporates rooms and furniture into its design. The plywood structure would be pre-fabricated to slide into a series of supporting columns. Areas of Focus: -Rhinocerus 3D Modeling -Digital Fabrication Stacked plans of structural layers
