the worst of the recession. This has all meant that RVs in Portugal have remained stronger
and more stable in relative terms than in other countries resulting in Portugal having some
of the strongest RVs in percentage terms in Europe. However, should the Portuguese
government introduce legislation to abide by the EUCJ’s ruling we could soon see a rise in
cheaper used vehicles being brought into the country and depressing the strong Portuguese
used values.
Portugal follows the trend of other European markets with the premium brands continuing
to be the most sought after and therefore benefitting from the strongest RVs. Once again
Land Rover benefits from the strongest RV percentages which considering the relatively
high list price of its models is quite an achievement and underlines the demand in
particular for SUVs. The appeal of SUVs has also helped Nissan, who have a generally more
