Attend training workshops organized by the Centre and acquire the skills
needed in communicating with them.
Meet with the elderly volunteers of the Center and form small working groups
with them. Facilitate the interaction, co-operation and mutual understanding
between students and the elderly. The groups will plan and arrange elderly
care activities.
Develop a deeper understanding on the causes and consequences of
population aging. Identify the potential issues that could arise from elderly
care.
Learn about the elderly welfare and social policy.
Identify and examine the needs of the elderly. Develop and implement
elderly care activities such as organizing visits to the socially isolated and
disadvantaged elderly during special festivals.
Design the conversation contents and the activities to be conducted during the
visits.
Conduct observation on elderly issues through on-site experience and
interaction with the elderly. Be in contact with the group of elderly in frail
condition through the services and discover the social problems arising from
population aging.
Try, test and develop a model to mobilize and enable the elderly who are
better-off to take care of those who are underprivileged by giving peer support
and care.
Respond to the needs of the elderly beneficiaries and elderly volunteers,
express the care and share thoughts with the elderly.
Share experiences and feelings to the Centre, take memorable pictures and
exchange greeting cards.
Promotes the messages of respecting, loving and caring for the elderly,
