Kindness- Poringland School
Poringland School in Norfolk has always believed that self-discovery and co-operation through play is critical to personal development for their pupils. This is reflected in their vision and values statement where they want to help create happy, active, inspired, healthy learners who are well-equipped for life.
Co-created with the children of the school council, it is literally built on one of the school’ s core values. But, has it been successful?
Pete Dean, the inspirational Head of the school.
“ The Poringland playground has been lit up by KINDNESS. The impact of this build on staff, parents and children is like nothing I have ever seen at any school.”
Roderick Dhu Lookout Tower The Lookout Tower at Roderick Dhu is a totally bespoke structure, conceived with a commitment to minimising its environmental impact, that draws inspiration from the original Roderick Dhu watch tower.
Nestled at the head of Loch Katrine, deep within The Trossachs National Park in Scotland, this location once served as a vantage point for the legendary outlaw and clan chief Rob Roy MacGregor, who used it to surveil the advancing Redcoats.
In 1810, with Sir Walter Scott’ s acclaimed‘ Lady of the Lake’ written in homage of Loch Katrine and the surrounding landscape put Loch Katrine on the map, with huge visitor numbers flocking to the site to witness its beauty for themselves and becoming the birthplace of Scottish tourism.
Neo’ s Homestead- Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix
Neo’ s World, within Parc Sainte Croix in the Moselle region of France is a new destination for explorers, following their key protagonist Neo, on a trail throughout the park.
This playscape creates a destination that serves both as an introduction and conclu- sion to Neo’ s great exploratory journeys across the world and fits within the loop his voyage takes you on around the park.
It was created to be inclusive for all, and de- signed to immerse you within a creative and colourful story. There’ s a touch of craziness too, but Neo’ s story runs right through every bit of it.
There is loads to play in, on and under, with tricks of the light and stunning‘ stained glass’ to add layer upon layer of detail. There’ s integrated water play that allows some of the really crazy detailing to come to life and keep things cool on a hot sunny day.
