Creative Regeneration

Recognising the importance of fostering a permanent and sustainable creative economy and the advancement of arts and culture within local communities , Counterculture is emerging as a pioneer . Using ‘ Inside-Out ’ regeneration , this supports existing physical , cultural and social assets as well as giving the community the opportunity to be part of its future .
By the implementation of a specialised creative placemaking framework , designed by their in-house experts and wider specialist network , it serves as a blueprint for urban regeneration projects in diverse cities . It rests on three fundamental pillars :
1 . Network : Emphasising openness , inclusivity and accessibility , connections and collaborations are encouraged among diverse stakeholders . The creation of a vibrant network of creative individuals and organisation was particularly effective in Hackney Wick Fish Island , East London . Through persistent advocacy , the area achieved recognition by the Mayor of London as a Creative Enterprise Zone , marking a significant milestone in a developmental journey . More recently , Partner Will Chamberlain co-founded the HWFI Community Development Trust to deliver a circular economy hub and workspaces .
2 . Communication : When done effectively , communication can work towards a shared vision for the area , encouraging dialogue and participation and thus ensuring that the aspirations and concerns of residents are heard and addressed .
